Coinciding with the growth of our exhibitions and public programs, our streetfront presence on Euclid Avenue offers a visible, welcoming presence in the community. Our new home, once a showroom for the Gandola Brothers Monument and Architectural Company, which designed and produced monuments for the neighboring Lakeview Cemetery in the early 1900s, is richly steeped in Cleveland’s changing cultural heritage. The historic building we now inhabit mirrors our growing Spotlight exhibition series, which highlight the untold stories of Cleveland’s past and their impact on present and future communities here and across the nation. We are honored to tend to the artistic legacy of this space and are thrilled to bring many exciting shows featuring the compelling work of sculpture-specific artists in the near future. In the meantime, we are hard at work addressing the accessibility concerns of the historic structure and we look forward to reopening our doors and welcoming you to our new home in November.
We are grateful to the Bernice and David E. Davis Foundation for so generously accommodating the growth of our institution and that of the Artist Archives of the Western Reserve on the campus Bernice and the late David E. Davis acquired in 1999.
For the latest updates on our new space and upcoming exhibitions, we encourage you to follow us on social media @thesculpturecenter.
