Sidaway Bridge Tour

Sidaway Bridge Walking Tour (at 64th and Opportunity Corridor)

Saturday, June 24, 2023, 4 – 6PM meet at Anton Grdina School, 2955 E 71st Street, Cleveland
Free and open to the public. Registration recommended.

Take an onsite tour to learn the history of this pedestrian suspension bridge, closed in 1966. An important site in the history of Cleveland’s racial divides, the bridge was also mentioned in the 1976 Federal court order on school desegregation. Note: Please wear sturdy, closed-toe shoes or hiking boots, as the walk will be over uneven terrain.

This event amends The Sculpture Center’s panel discussion “Hope on the Horizon: Sidaway Bridge panel discussion”, is presented by Perspectus Architecture. and is part of Cleveland History Days, featuring over 50 events celebrating Cleveland’s rich history.
