The 2020 SX Symposium, ART & AGENCY, will explore ways that artists are establishing contemporary sculpture practices that connect and interact broadly, often bypassing disciplinary and even national boundaries in their attempts to reshape the world. Due to current events, the three-day symposium will be free and virtual.
Presenters during this four day symposium include Aruna D’Souza, author of Whitewalling: Art, Race & Protest in 3 Acts, writer, filmmaker and architect Madeline Schwartzman, Director of Exhibitions and Programs, Sculpture Center, New York Kyle Dancewicz, Artist-educators Sean Derry and Sharon Massey, SX Student Alum and artist Angie Seykora, and founder of Mildred’s Lane in Beach Lake, PA, J. Morgan Puett. The Sculpture Center’s Executive Director, Grace Chin, will be among the presenters of opening remarks and offer one-on-one mentoring sessions to students.
