Join us for the first exhibition of art work created by students of the art classes held at our close neighbor, Circle Health Services, 12201 Euclid Avenue, Cleveland, Ohio.
Artists of our Community celebrates the outstanding artwork of some of the committed art students of these classes. Teacher Catherine Butler says of these classes: “I have met so many wonderful students over the past two years, some who only came to few classes, and some who have become regular attendees. I have been impressed with their talent and the joy, curiosity, thoughtfulness and dedication they bring to their work. I am struck by how important an opportunity the class is, especially for adults, to find sanctuary in the process of creating art.”
The Sculpture Center has been offering free weekly art classes for all ages at Circle Health Services (formerly The Free Clinic) since March 2016 when they were initiated by Abdullah Qamer, a Cleveland Foundation Creative Fusion artist at The Sculpture Center. Artist Catherine Butler has continued the classes with great success for the ensuing two year and has just assumed the position of chairman of the art department at Laurel School, where she has taught for 10 years. Highly experienced artist and educator Debbie Apple-Presser is the new art teacher as of August.
We most sincerely thank Circle Health Services for their commitment to these classes and the Char and Chuck Fowler Family Foundation for making them possible.
OUR THANKS TO THE CHAR AND CHUCK FOWLER FOUNDATION AND CIRCLE HEALTH SERVICES
